Microsoft Teams Live Chat!

Just set up the Microsoft Teams Live Chat and it's fantastic! The integration was super smooth, and our support team is already loving how easy it is to handle customer queries right from Teams. No more switching apps, which is a huge time-saver. We're definitely renewing and I've already told my colleagues at another company about it.

Consistently good service

I've been using Social Intents for a while now, mainly the Slack Live Chat and recently added the AI Chatbot. This latest setup went as smoothly as my previous ones. The reliability is really why I stick with them; the chat widgets always work, and the analytics are helpful without being overcomplicated. I appreciate that I can count on it to just work.

Chatbot training is cool

So, I tried out the Chatbot Training from Website feature, and it's pretty neat. I just pointed it at our FAQ page, and the bot actually learned from it, which was a nice surprise. Setting it up wasn't too bad, mostly followed the docs. It feels good to have some of those basic questions answered automatically. Pretty chill experience overall.

Finally switched our small team over to Social Intents from Intercom. Setup was way smoother than I expected, especially getting it connected to Microsoft Teams. Still getting used to the UI differences but so far, so good. Anyone else make this jump?

R RohanK 4 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, we did that about 6 months ago. The Teams integration is a lifesaver for us, keeps everything in one place. Did you use their AI chatbot features at all yet?

P PriyaS 4 weeks ago
Not yet, still figuring out the basics. Is the AI worth the extra setup?
1
R RohanK 4 weeks ago
Definitely. We trained ours on our knowledge base and it handles about 30% of our common queries. Saves a lot of agent time.
2
A AnkitG 4 weeks ago
Thinking of doing the same. How does it compare on price, especially for multiple agents? Intercom's getting pretty steep.
1
P PriyaS 4 weeks ago
Way better for us. We got a non-profit discount too, which helped a lot. Their annual plan also has a good discount.

Good to hear positive feedback. Was worried about the data storage side of things. Is it secure for enterprise use?

They mention compliance on their site. Seemed fine during our security review.

Thinking of getting Social Intents, is the ChatGPT bot worth it?

C ChattyCathy 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Honestly, the ChatGPT chatbot is pretty slick. It handled most of our basic customer questions, freed up our team a lot. We even trained it on our website content which was easy.

How much setup was involved for training?

Did you use your own OpenAI key for it?

We use the Claude AI Chatbot and it's been fantastic for our support. Very natural conversations.

T TechSavvySam 1 month ago
Never considered Claude, interesting.

Depends on your needs. For simple FAQs, it's good. But for complex stuff, you'll still need live agents. I found the 'Automated FAQ Bot' just as good for our smaller company.

Good point about complex questions.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide between those two.

Which live chat integration is best for a small team on a budget?

T TeamPlayer 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
If you're already using Microsoft Teams, their 'Microsoft Teams Live Chat' is a no-brainer. Super easy to set up and your team can answer right from Teams.

Does it work well?

This is what I was thinking too.

S SlackSavvy 3 weeks ago
We went with the Slack Live Chat because our whole company is on Slack. Made things really simple for agent adoption. Plus, you can often get a discount for paying annually.
5
S StartupSarah 3 weeks ago
Good to know about the annual discount!
7
A AgentAide 3 weeks ago
How many agents does the basic plan include?
6
P PracticalPete 3 weeks ago
Honestly, just start with the 'Live Chat for Website' plain version. Then you can add the specific integration later if needed. Use the 14-day free trial to see how it fits.

W WebWanderer 3 weeks ago
Does it support multiple websites?

S StartupSarah 3 weeks ago
That's a smart idea to try it first.

Thinking about getting this for our support team, but we use MS Teams. How well does the chat integrate there, like is it clunky or pretty smooth?

T Todd Okafor 1 month ago
It's pretty seamless, honestly. All our customer chats pop right into Teams channels, and agents can reply from there. Way better than flipping between apps.
1
J Josh Bennett 1 month ago
yeah it works well, we've been using it for a few months. it just shows up as another app in teams.

My Black Friday deal from last year for Social Intents is about to expire. Wondering if I should try to negotiate a renewal discount or just wait for the next big sale. Anyone have luck getting a better deal when renewing?

R RahulK 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
I got 10% off my monthly plan when I asked. Mentioned I was considering other options. Worth a shot.

Mine renewed automatically and I didn't even think to ask for a discount. Good question.

Depends on your usage. If you're using the AI features heavily, they might be less flexible. For basic live chat, you might have more leverage.
7
S SwatiR 1 week ago
We're mostly using the Slack integration for live chat, no AI yet.

Is this a good alternative to something like Drift or Intercom? We're a small startup and those are way too expensive for what we need.

N Nina A. 2 months ago
For sure. We switched from Intercom specifically because of cost and have been super happy. It's not as feature-heavy in some areas, but for basic chat and bot stuff, it's way more affordable and does the job.
1
C Cody K. 2 months ago
Yeah, if you're already in Slack or Teams, it's a solid choice. Much cheaper than Drift and you get a lot of the same core features without the bloat.

Does this work with my own custom chatbot or can I connect it to something like ChatGPT directly? We have some specific needs for our bot.

S Sarah N. 1 month ago
They have a ChatGPT integration, yeah. I think you can even use your own OpenAI API key for more control.
0
R Ryan Torres 1 month ago
You can definitely train their AI bot from your website content, and they mention API access too. So custom stuff seems possible.

Hey, wondering if there are any current promo codes floating around? About to sign up but want to make sure I'm not missing a deal.

G Greg 2 months ago
They usually do 14-day free trials, and then you save a good chunk if you pay for the year. I think they sometimes have first-year promos too, but those are harder to find.
2
N Nina Kim 2 months ago
Check the billing page when you're signing up, that's where codes usually go in. I got a discount last year during Black Friday, but not sure if there are any right now.
